BOISAR Emergency Dispatch System

Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue (BOISAR) is based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador and has been in operation for more over 35 years. BOISAR is a 100% volunteer team of over 50 dedicated and trained personnel committed to providing quality search and rescue support to law enforcement agencies in the Bay of Islands area, and throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Each year, BOISAR members contribute thousands of person hours to volunteer community services, training activities, fundraising, and search and rescue incidents.

Since its formation, BOISAR has responded to hundreds of search and rescue calls and remains dedicated to helping those lost or injured in remote areas.

BOISAR can only be deployed by law enforcement or Parks Canada personnel, and we cannot respond to requests for deployment from members of the public. If you have an emergency or need assistance finding a lost person, dial 911, or call the RCMP at 1-800-RCMP, or in the city of Corner Brook call the RNC at 709-637-4100
